Robotic Brazing Cell

The Robotic Brazing Cell provides automatic brazing facility to produce a range of tube assemblies of varying type of flange and tube length.

The flange tray containing 60 flanges is fed into the cell by the conveyor & the tube feeder is ‘charged` (presents tubes for the robot) at the same time. The tube feeder allows bulk loading of tubes to be loaded in one operation and doesn`t interfere with the continuous operation of the cell.  The robot picks up three flanges with its expanding grippers and then moves to pick up three tubes. It then moves to the fluxing station where flux is dispensed onto the tubes.

The brazing fixture will accommodate various flange types, tube  diameters & lengths.  The burn times, with dwell times between, are selectable depending on the product code. Once the brazing cycle is complete the burners on the load side lower and the pre-determined cooling cycle is activated to blow cool air onto the three tubes. When cool the robot grips the tubes, lifts the assembly from the fixture and moves to discharge them in to the cleaner tank.
